RADIOLOGICAL
LICENSING
Every industrial facility that intends to become a user of equipment emitting ionizing radiation in Angola, needs to adapt to the regulatory requirements resulting in Law No. 4/05 of September 5th called the “Atomic Energy Law” and Presidential Decree 12/12 of 25 January, referred to as the “Atomic Energy Regulation”, obtaining an Operation License issued by the Nuclear Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (AREA).
MX2 Radiation offers technical advice, specifically for obtaining and maintaining the client’s radiological license, such as:
- Registration and licensing of the radiological facilities to obtain an Operation License with AREA for various industrial practices, such as Nuclear Gauge, Well Logging, NORM and Industrial Radiography;
- Elaboration or revision of manuals, plans, procedures and projects about radiological safety and security for the facility to be licensed;
- Elaboration or revision of the Radiation Protection Manual according to current regulatory requirements, including plans for transporting radioactive material;
- Preparation of Decommissioning Plans to obtain the License for Withdrawal from Operation of the radiological facility; and
- Supply of qualified professionals, such as Experts, Specialists, Radiation Protection Officers and radioprotection technicians.
